U.S. 24 work in Fulton County begins Oct. 7
LITTLE AMERICA – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that construction on U.S. 24 just east of Illinois 78, near Little America in rural Fulton County, begins Oct. 7.
The project involves slope stabilization and pavement repairs and will reduce U.S. 24 to one lane, with traffic controlled by temporary signals, through the end of November.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
