U.S. 67 work in Warren County begins Feb. 17
MONMOUTH – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that construction on U.S. 67 in Warren County, from south of 270th Street to roughly 1 mile north of the U.S. 34 intersection at Monmouth, begins Feb. 17.
The project involves resurfacing, shoulder widening, replacing guardrails and culverts, and adding turn lanes and will require intermittent daytime lane closures, with traffic controlled by flaggers. Areas with culvert replacements will have traffic controlled by temporary signals.
All work is expected to be complete in November 2027.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
