Vehicle weight restrictions in effect in Whiteside County

WHITESIDE COUNTY – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that effective Feb. 1, there will be 10-ton vehicle weight restrictions on the following roads in Whiteside County:

  • Garden Plain Road: 5 tons per axle (westbound lane only)
  • Freeport Road: 11 tons

Depending upon the weather, the postings will be lifted on or before May 1.

Kennedy express lanes weekend closure
CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that repairs to a fiber optics line will require a full closure of the Kennedy Expressway (Interstate 90/94) reversible express lanes this weekend. The closure will go into effect, weather permitting, 10 p.m. Friday, March 20, until no later than 5 a.m. Monday, March 23.
