Weekend closure of Illinois 150 and Illinois 4 near Steeleville begins April 25

STEELEVILLE – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced the closure of Illinois 150 and Illinois 4 east of the intersection outside of Steeleville in Randolph County.

The weekend closure is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., Friday, April 25, and will continue through 5 a.m., Monday, April 28. The closure is needed to replace a box culvert.

Detour information:

· ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ Illinois 4 traffic: Detour east from Sparta on Illinois 154, then south and west on Illinois 150 to reconnect with Illinois 4.

· ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ Illinois 150 through traffic: Detour north on Illinois 4 to Sparta, then east on Illinois 154 to rejoin Illinois 150.

Illinois 4 and Illinois 150 west of the intersection will remain open during the weekend closure.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
