Weekend lane closure on inbound I-290

CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that repairs by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) near Cicero Avenue (Illinois 50), will require a closure of the left lane and shoulder on the inbound Eisenhower Expressway (Interstate 290) between Central and Cicero avenues starting at, weather permitting, 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, to 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16. ​ ​

The public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to detour signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
