2/18/2025 UPDATE: The westbound Ontario Street feeder ramp to access the northbound Kennedy Expressway (Interstate 90/94) reversible express lanes is open for the evening rush, repairs are ongoing.

Westbound Ontario Street ramp to northbound Kennedy reversible express lanes closed

CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that due to an issue with the reversible gate system at Ontario Street, the westbound Ontario Street feeder ramp to access the northbound Kennedy Expressway (Interstate 90/94) reversible express lanes is closed until further notice.

Motorists can still access the northbound Kennedy mainline lanes from Ontario Street. All other gates and access points are operating as usual.

The public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment. ​ ​
