Farmington Road work begins March 12

WEST PEORIA – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that guardrail repairs on Farmington Road (Illinois 8) between Rhodora Road in West Peoria and Main Street in Peoria begin March 12.

The work will reduce the road to one lane, with traffic controlled by flaggers, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day through March 17.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
