Work underway on Illinois 5 and 16th Street in Moline

MOLINE – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that work is underway on the intersection of Illinois 5 (John Deere Road) and 16th Street in Moline.

Work will consist of patching the pavement at the intersection and resurfacing portions of it. There will be lane closures throughout the project and the bulk of the work will be done overnight. The project is expected to wrap up by the end of May.

Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zone areas, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.

Over the next six years, IDOT is planning to improve 7,107 lane miles of highway and 8.4 million square feet of bridge deck as part of Rebuild Illinois, which is investing $33.2 billion into all modes of transportation. Accomplishments through Year Six of Rebuild Illinois include almost $20.8 billion of improvements statewide to 21,309 lane miles of highway, 815 bridges and 1,181 additional safety improvements.

I-270 lane closures scheduled this weekend in Madison County
GRANITE CITY – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced lane closures on eastbound and westbound Interstate 270 from Illinois 3 to the Mississippi River in Madison County for road construction. Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, June 5, traffic will be reduced to the right lane in both directions, weather permitting. Two lanes will reopen to traffic by 6 a.m. Sunday, June 7. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Illinois 13 lane closures at Kaskaskia River Bridge begin June 8 in St. Clair County
NEW ATHENS – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that lane closures will be in place on Illinois 13 at the Kaskaskia River Bridge north of New Athens in St. Clair County beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, June 8, weather permitting.
